I hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer! With fall fast approaching, it’s an excellent time for change. I recently read an article in Avenue Magazine about our city’s top 10 neighbourhoods and thought I’d share them with you.
1) In first place the lovely neighbourhood of Strathcona, a prime example of an urban area with tons of amenities. Over 25% of homes in this area are single and detached, while the rest consist of apartments- either high-rises or walkups.
2) In Second place is the peaceful neighbourhood of Glenora. This area is said to be the most established area in the city and is known to turn heads with tons of dream homes, huge lots and historic homes.
3) Oliver is in third place and with the river valley near by, the proximity to downtown and 124 St and the selectivity of rentals who wouldn’t want to live here?
4) Westmount takes fourth place on Avenue’s list. This neighbourhood is known for the heritage homes and greenery that provide a peaceful area to raise a family.
5) Highlands is fifth on the list and recently celebrated it’s 100th birthday! This is a beautiful area that has a unique shopping area along 112th Avenue and tons of boutiques and restaurants to check out!
6)The community of Ritchie is in sixth place. This neighbourhood has grown immensely over the past few years and continues to attract young families and professionals because of the affordable homes and closeness to the downtown area.
7) Downtown has always been the focus of the city, and it’s no wonder why with the new Royal Alberta Museum and the new Rogers Place Arena, the city’s downtown core is only going to get better.
8) Garneau is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods and with the convenience of all the wonderful restaurants, shops and entertainment options it is no wonder why this area made the list.
9)Riverdale is a peaceful and serene neighbourhood that is close to the North Saskatchewan River.
10)Crestwood made the list and it’s no wonder why because this area is surrounded by the ravine and has amazing greenery.
