Central & South Side of YEG
One of my favorite areas in Edmonton is the River Valley, not only is it great for going on long runs with your dog or friends; it also has a breath taking view. Another awesome spot on the south side of Edmonton is Whyte Avenue, filled with some of my favorite shops (gravity pope) and cafes, it's a great place to walk around and enjoy our beautiful city. On Saturday mornings if you wake up early enough make sure to check out the farmers market for your daily dose of organic fresh fruit and vegetables. Last week I talked about all the benefits of living on the north side of Edmonton and this week I will be stating all the reasons why the south side and central should be your choice of location. Not only is it close to the University of Alberta, it is close Old Strathcona, Whyte Avenue and tons of other hot locations.
Edmonton's North Saskatchewan River valley is the largest parkland in North America, with over 22 parks and over 150 km of trails on where one can enjoy time in the sun, bike rides, cross country skiing and lots more! Amazing central neighborhoods include; Glenora, Grovenor, Crestwood, Laurier Heights as well as Parkview. Be sure to check out Jeffrey's Cafe & Wine Bar- one of my favorite spots in the central side of the city, or with your children the River Valley Zoo is always an adventure. The South side of Edmonton is a growing and prestigious area that is filled with amazing neighborhoods, shopping areas and restaurants. It is close to the University as well as easy access to Edmonton’s Airport. Many amazing neighborhoods one should consider when shopping for a new home in the Southside are Riverbend, Terwillegar, Bulyea Heights, Blackmud Creek and Twin Brooks. For all you first time buyers; Windermere South and Ambleside are new growing neighborhoods. Whatever area of the city you choose I will make sure I find the best home for you!
